Welcome Bobcats

During the first few weeks of their first semester, an email greets new freshmen and transfer students and inquires if they have initial concerns. Students then have the opportunity to respond and ask for help if it is needed. The Retention Management and Planning office returns all requests for help within 48 hours.The two main objectives of the program are

  1. To welcome new students and let them know we appreciate them choosing Texas State
  2. To answer questions about academic services, opportunities to get involved with campus programs and student organizations, and adjustment issues. 

Student Appreciation Programs

The Retention Management & Planning office gives transfer students, new students, student veterans and graduating students the opportunity to thank faculty, staff or administrators for the various ways they have supported those students during their college careers. After students submit their recognitions, letters containing the students' comments are then sent to those recognized individuals.
