Academic Affairs Resources
The SLAC lab is located at Alkek Library on the 4th floor. They provide walk-in tutoring, supplemental instruction, and online resources. One of the online resources is the online writing lab. This free resource allows students to electronically submit up to 5 pages of a paper and receive comments to help improve the paper within 48 hours (excluding holidays and weekends).
The Writing Center is located on the 1st floor of the Academic Services Building North (ABSN). At the center students can get one-on-one tutoring to improve writing skills or review a specific assignment. They also hold workshops, help with preparation for the P.U.G. exam, and offer veteran to veteran tutoring.
Math CATS (Computer & Tutoring Services)
The Texas State Math CATS offers free walk-in math tutoring for individualized help. The lab is located in Derrick Hall, room 238. In addition to the tutoring available, there are computers for open use that are already equipped with current versions of popular mathematics software.
Chat with a Librarian
Students are always able to email a librarian for research assistance, but the Alkek Library also provides students with the opportunity to ask a librarian. The librarians are always available and kind, and are excellent at helping guide students to reputable resources for research.
The PACE center is a one stop shop of resources to help students as they begin their college careers. The center offers academic advising, mentoring, academic coaching, and career exploration.
